The long and varied careers of Chris Spheeris and Paul Voudouris have included many styles of music. Starting in 1976 they were a folk duo who created original progressive folk masterpieces and toured extensively. They recorded two LP's documenting this formative period, "Spheeris & Voudouris" and "Points of View". Before the group split to follow their individual paths (and before they would reunite on several more occasions over the following years for more successful releases, they created an ambient music masterpiece titled "Passage" and "Primal Tech" which was their interpretation of primitive emotions married to the technology of the time: rhythm computers and synthesizers and guitar processors. It served as a stark contrast to their beautiful, harmonic ballads of their early releases and left many of their fans wondering what they had in mind. Now, decades later, the music still stands on its own as a testament to the creative genius of this duo or artists. This release was recorded live at The Blue River Cafe, in Milwaukee Wisconsin, from April 7-11, 1982, with Chris Spheeris on vocals, guitars, processors and rhythm computer and Paul Voudouris on vocals, pianos, and synthesizers.
